Ian Watson and Susanna Ogata
Producer: Jesse Lewis

Early music and audiophilia have primary source seekers in common, and both take what is hard to see and make it ALIVE to hear!!! I am absolutely obsessed with early music and with hearing old music LIVE again. Susanna and Ian are the most delightful, witty and energetic duo. We are lucky to have these Beethoven Sonatas available now in such vivid color. Thanks to you both! Only two more volumes to go! - Jesse Lewis

The libretto is from Wikileaks. The music is by Ted Hearne. This is journalism. It's opera. It's pop culture. This is IMPORTANT - Thank you Ted for this, a masterpiece of our modern melting pot. - Jesse Lewis

What a delight of classical music reimagination. These guys pull of the technically and musically impossible. A reaffirmation that the cello is the most virtuosic and versatile instrument in the world. You have never heard cello like this. Thanks guys. - Jesse Lewis

Steve Reich
Third Coast Percussion
Producer: Jesse Lewis
Engineers: Dan Nichols, Jesse Lewis
Mastering: Kyle Pyke
Third Coast Percussion is a quartet of Reich veterans. The familiar Reich intensity and focus with the bleeding heart of this amazing young band of percussion virtuosi. A particular shout-out in this case to the great Dan Nichols for his obsessive approach to engineering that brought a special kind of warmth and sensitivity to the sound. - Jesse Lewis

The Westerlies
These are some of the warmest sounds you will hear. Two trumpets, two trombones, making a quartet of total heart and soul. This band may be new on the scene, but I have to say I have never heard such a beautiful, resonant sound in my life as from the four very generous musicians.

The Knights: Azul
The Knights are the most creative and spontaneous orchestra you will ever hear; inspired by their fearless leader, Eric Jacobson, and joined by Yo-Yo Ma for this recording we did down at BRIC of Brooklyn.
The sessions were alive - and literally LIVE in concert for an invited audience. You will hear the vivid performance that took place amid the recording sessions.
The centerpiece, Azul by Osvaldo Golijov, is the masterwork of this disc, and worth giving a deep listen stem to stern.

Felix Mendelssohn: Sonatas from Childhood, Adolescence, and Adulthood
Abby and YiHeng delighted me one day with the idea of making the ONLY yet recording of Mendelssohn's complete works for fortepiano and violin.
The pure acoustics and aura of this album are totally enlightened by an original Graff we were able to find for the project - pristine condition, and with SUCH a staggeringly beautiful sound.
Period performances really live and breath are hard to come by, but this is as good as it gets. Thanks Abby and YiHeng for your amazing musicianship.

Louis Andriessen: Theatre of the World
The tour de force of operas for the year, this LA Phil production's scope is tremendous: fully staged with live animation and sound, recorded live for this recording.
We have the amazing vibrancy of the live performance shinning here. Your first listen will bring you right into the thick of the cast's powerful conveyance of the fantastical narrative of Athanasius Kircher, and the orchestra's equally expressive, dauntless approach.

Ryan Young
Ryan Young carries his heart on his sleeve, and in the core of his sound. I am honored to have been a part of his first album, and tremendously proud that such an honest and quiet person can write and convey such a mesmerizing aesthetic.
We recorded, after a number of days hunting for the perfect venue, in a beautiful theatre and concert space at the Royal Conservatoire. Thanks to them for their wonderful work.
CHECK THIS OUT, absolutely.

Robyn Bollinger: Ciaccona, the Bass of Time
Robyn’s violin playing spoke to me when I heard her. She really shows us what a web the Ciaccona has woven in all music we hear.
